Need a healthy idea for dinner, but your pressed for time? Well this Lemon & Garlic Chicken Sandwich is the perfect solution!
For a long time I wasn’t eating as healthy as I should have, but lately I am a lot more health conscious when it comes to what I eat. I try to eat as much fresh food as possible, but I still enjoy a healthy sandwich every now and again. This is really one of my favourite sandwiches to make for dinner as it’s very filling, easy to make and really delicious. It is ideal for a quick meal and with it being so filling you won’t eat more than one sandwich. Here is how you can make this easy meal:
What you will need
Wholewheat, Low-Gi Seed Bread
A little bit of cheese
*I also don’t enjoy dry bread so it’s best to use a butter that is good for you.
Here is how to prepare this meal:
Step 1 – For this dish I prefer to season my chicken using only fresh ingredients. I’m not a big fan of spices so I like to experiment with seasoning my food. Squeeze out one lemon and and cut up some garlic. The lemon will be used on the chicken and the garlic will be fried with the chicken to give it a nice taste.
Step 2 – To give your chicken a nice lemon flavour, completely cover it in the lemon juice for 10-15 minutes.
Step 3 – While your chicken is still in the lemon juice, start frying up the garlic in a pan. To ensure that your chicken and garlic won’t stick to the pan, add a little bit of oil (I use olive oil).
Step 4 – Now add the chicken to the pan of garlic. Once all the chicken is in the pan let it cook for a bit. Once the chicken is nearly done, throw some of the lemon juice that was left over, over the chicken strips.
Step 5 – sandwiches are really easy to make and you can build it in any order that you want. All I added onto my sandwich was lettuce, the chicken strips and cheese.
And there you go, a quick and easy meal to make that is healthy and filling!
