I just love creating pretty things and today I would love to show you how to create easy DIY Watercolour Coffee Mugs
I haven’t uploaded a DIY post in ages due to being extremely busy, but I have been feeling very inspired and crafty the last few weeks. So today I have a tutorial showing you how to create some easy and gorgeous watercolour coffee mugs. This is a project that I’ve been wanting to do for ages! Instead of just creating a plain picture tutorial, I decided to create a video to show you just how easy this is to create.
What you will need:
- A Mug(s)
- A bowl of lukewarm water
- Nail Polish
- Nail Polish Remover
- A Skewer Stick
Here is how to create your own DIY Watercolour Coffee Mugs:
Step 1 – Fill a bowl with lukewarm water. Cold water will make the nail polish thick and it won’t be able to spread properly.
Step 2 – Add your choice of nail polish to the water and take the skewer stick and swirl it around.
Step 3 – Take your mug and dip it into the bowl with nail polish. You can turn the mug and dip various sides of it. This step needs to be done quickly to ensure that the nail polish doesn’t turn into clumps.
Step 4 – Place your mug somewhere safe so that it can dry. Leave your mug standing for 1-2 hours.
Step 5 – Take some cotton wool and nail polish remover and remove any nail polish that may have collected in the mug, underneath it or on any other unwanted places.
Step 6 – Seal in the nail polish on your mug with a clear top coat or a non toxic setting spray
* These mugs are not dishwasher safe.
* When washing your mugs gently wash instead of scrubbing.
* Durability of your mugs might also depend on the quality nail polish that you used.
And creating watercolour mugs are as easy as that! I would love to hear what you thought of this tutorial so plase leave me a comment below! I would also appreciate a thumbs up on the video if you enjoyed it 🙂
