3 Great Gel Nail Methods
Gel nails tend to give you a longer lasting and shinier manicure and has been on the up rise the last while. While you can get your gel manicure done at your beauty salon, you can now give yourself a gel manicure in the comfort of your own home. There are so many affordable options to get a lasting gel manicure and today I would love to share three great methods with you and some of my favourite products to use.

I am absolutely loving my gel manicures and over the last few months I have found some great methods to achieve a long lasting gel manicure at home. I have compiled a list of my favourite at home gel systems with a few of my favourite products to point you in the right direction.

LED/UV Lamp
One of the first major systems that was introduced was the at home LED/UV lamp that you could buy with the matching gel products. This is the more traditional gel nail method and with this system you normally have a gel base coat and a gel top coat that you apply and cure under a LED or UV lamp. This is a great alternative for doing your nails at home instead of going to a salon. I do find this to be a bit more costly to start up, but the products tend to last you a while so you end up saving a lot of money.

Essence Gel Nails at Home
One of my favourite LED Lamp kits to use is the Essence Gel Nails at Home. This is a really affordable option and you get a gorgeous long lasting and high shine manicure. You can get the kit for the following prices:

Essence Gel nails at home mini LED lamp – R299
Essence Gel nails at home peel off base – R57.95
Essence Gel nails at home clear top coat – R57.95
Essence Gel nails at home primer – R47.95
Essence Gel nails at home cleanser -R47.95

3 Step Gel System 3 Step Gel System
A 3 step nail system is truly an amazing method to use to create a gel manicure. It’s such a simplistic method and you require no extra products to remove your nail polish (you remove it like you would with a normal polish). This system consists out of three steps that you need to complete to achieve a perfect gel manicure: Step 1 – Start by applying the Base Coat and wait for it to dry, Step 2 – Apply your choice of Colour Nail Polish and wait for it to dry, Step 3 – Lastly you will apply the Top Coat to achieve a gorgeous gel look.

Out of all the options this is probably my most favourite and I find that this is the best way to get a super long lasting gel manicure plus it is really affordable.

Gel like nail polish Gel like nail polish
A gel like nail polish gives you a gel manicure without any tools and normally just one coat of nail polish. This is by far the quickest way to get a gel manicure at home. The only draw back about this method is that even thought the polish last a bit longer, it does tend to chip faster than your other gel methods. Out of all the options this is your most affordable one.

Gel like nail polish 2 Option 1 – Charlie Gelicious Nail Polish

Option 2 – Essence The Gel Nail Polish
You can get these polishes for R24.95 and to read my full review on this system simply click here: Essence The Gel Nail Polish

These are all really great options and you can try them all to find the perfect one for you. I would love to hear what you thought about this post, so please leave me a message below.
