Determine your Skin type and how to treat it

We all have a skin type that comes with its ups and downs, knowing how to treat your skin type makes all the difference! It is sometimes hard to determine which skin type you are so here is a guide to help you find your skin type and how to treat it

1. Dry Skin

Characteristics: Dry skin can lack elasticity, can be flaky, scaly and rough to the touch.
How to Treat: Rinse your face with warm water, use a cream base lotion to hydrate your skin and use a toner to help with the tight and flaky feeling.
What to avoid: Try to avoid products that contain alcohol and fragrance and use a cream moisturizer.

2. Oily Skin

Characteristics: Oily skin is prone to pimples, black heads and whiteheads. Your skin will be shiny, greasy and you will have big pores.
How to Treat: Wash your face twice a day with a gentle alcohol free wash and use a toner after washing. You can also lightly moisturize your skin with a gel moisturizer or serum.

3. Normal Skin

Characteristics: Normal skin is balanced, smooth and firm to the touch.
How to Treat: Use a gentle cleanser and try not to scrub your face too hard. Apply a moisturizing serum after you wash your face.

4. Combination Skin

Characteristics: Combination skin is usually two skin types combined, such as dry skin in some spots and oily in other spots.
How to Treat: The best way to treat combination skin is to treat each problem with its own treatment. You can use a gel, cream or serum moisturizer.

5.Sensitive skin

Characteristics: Sensitive skin can show in a rash, redness, inflammation or acne. This skin type usually reacts to certain products or make-up.
How to Treat: Make sure that you cleanse, tone and moisturize with a gentle product on a daily basis. Also try to use fragrance free and hypoallergenic products.
